Stainless Steel, Stone, Copper and Concrete

God of Small Things #1 Funny how such a small thing can express 12 years of banging hot steel. But there you have it. By the name “The god of Small Things” I mean things that one holds in your hand, that you touch and fondle. Beauty where touch and eye entwine. No other utilitarian function, other than to be with. The stainless has been hammered, drawn and twisted under intense heat. Then ground back and polished up to a high finish. It feels silken to touch which belies the violence that it took to forge. The stone has been gather from various beaches and rivers and have there own stories. If you want to know about them ask.

Once they have a good hold they’ll spin to tear off a chuck. The stone is Argelite from D’Urville Island. A napping stone highly prized in pre european NZ.
